Public Swimming Sessions
Come along and enjoy a swim at Chippindale Pool. Our public swimming sessions are open to the local community, with sessions available during the week and at weekends.
There’s no need to book – simply check the session times, turn up and enjoy your swim. These are public swimming sessions rather than the pool’s general opening hours.

Looking for something different for a birthday or celebration? Chippindale Pool is available for private pool parties after school on Fridays and at weekends, subject to availability.

Looking for a pool for your club, business or organisation?
Chippindale Pool is available for external hire outside school hours, subject to availability. Whether you’re looking for regular pool time or a one-off booking, get in touch to discuss your requirements.

About the Pool
Chippindale Pool is located at Prince Henry’s Grammar School in Otley, West Yorkshire.
Outside of school hours, the pool is operated by Ready Steady Swim, providing swimming opportunities for the local community alongside pool hire for clubs, organisations and other groups.
The pool is available after school, at weekends and during school holidays, subject to availability.

We’re keen to keep congestion around the school down and to be considerate of our neighbours, so please walk, cycle, scoot or use public transport where you can.
If you’re travelling by car, please use the allocated parking areas within Prince Henry’s Grammar School. Please don’t park on Prince Henry’s Court, at the Yew Tree Pub, on the entrance roads to the school car parks, or anywhere that obstructs the pedestrian crossings near the school.
If you use permitted on-street parking nearby, please park considerately and be mindful of local residents, pedestrians and other road users. The school sits within a residential community, so please enter and leave the site considerately.

What ages can attend the Family Fun Swim?
Everyone is welcome! There are no age restrictions for the Family Fun Swim.
Children under 13 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Children under 13 must be accompanied by a responsible adult when attending public swimming sessions.
Children aged 13 and over can attend without an accompanying adult.
Where do I go when I arrive at the school?
When you arrive at Prince Henry’s Grammar School, simply head to Reception.
From there, the route to Chippindale Pool and the changing rooms is clearly signposted.
How do I book Ready Steady Swim lessons?
There are several ways to enquire about swimming lessons with Ready Steady Swim.
The easiest way is to complete our Swimming Lesson Enquiry Form and the Ready Steady Swim team will be in touch.
Visitors can also use the Ready Steady Swim links elsewhere on the website to find out more about lessons and get in touch.
How much does it cost to hire the pool for a party?
Pool party hire is £185 for 1½ hours.
The price includes private use of the pool, a lifeguard, music and floats.

Can clubs and organisations hire the pool regularly?
Yes. Chippindale Pool is available for hire by clubs, businesses, organisations and other groups outside school hours, subject to availability.
We welcome enquiries for both regular bookings and one-off pool hire.

Is a lifeguard included with private hire?
A lifeguard is included with our £185 Pool Party package.

We recommend getting in touch as early as possible, particularly if you’re looking for a specific weekend date or regular pool time.
